Carol's "Camping Checklist" Table – Overall & Personal +( *Add ons per ZLA)
The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, Carbon County, lies in the western foothills of the Pocono Mountains. This large park has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. The Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, is a National Natural Landmark ~ The Pennsylvania Outdoor Recreation and Information Guide ~ DCNR-PA State Parks Camping Info Page + Other Camping Links ~ Wildernet: Hickory Run State Park - Basic History plus activities... click

here for pic of the girls on the trail ~ Worlds End State Park (Where I would possibly like to go next): Virtually in a class by itself, this wild, rugged and rustic area seems almost untamed. Camping, cabins and hiking on the Loyalsock Trail attract many visitors to Worlds End State Park. The scenery is spectacular, especially the June mountain laurel and Fall foliage. Canyon Vista, reached via Mineral Spring and Cold Run Roads, provides outstanding views.
